BIO
Mark Mosher is an experimental electronic musician from Boulder, CO who's been programming and performing with synthesizers for over 20 years. Mark's recent works include two original concept albums with composed instrumental music called REBOOT & I HEAR YOUR SIGNALS and I HEAR YOUR SIGNALS (which made the October top 20 on NPR Member Station WDIY 88.1 FM).
He is currently working on Album #3 in the "Signals Universe" series which will contain composed and improvised material, remixes for other artists, and sound design projects.
Mark performs live in a one-man show format playing and controlling synthesizers in real-time with antennas, cubes, grids, and keys. Mark's show is an exploration in expressive musical controllerism. When performing live he arranges pieces on-the-fly and engages the audience with performances featuring instruments that offer feedback in the form of light. Mark has performed his live set at venues such as Electro-Music Festival in NY, the University of Denver black box theatre, the Art Institute of California/Sunnyvale, and Ableton Colorado. In 2012 Mark will be appearing at the Mountain Skies Electro-Music Festival in Asheville, NC. See the event page for more event listings.
Prior to becoming a solo artist, Mark worked as a professional musician, sound designer, and composer for hire. As an indie artist, Mark has his own label and publishes on iTunes, Amazon MP3, Spotify, and Bandcamp. Mark also makes his music available as free downloads under CC-BY-NC license and to date he's had over 60,000 combined listens on various music social networks such as soundcloud and bandcamp . In 2010, Mark was selected as a featured artist of the week out of the 2,000,000 strong community on ReverbNation.com. Mark is currently ranked #315 in the US & #845 on the Global Electronica charts on ReverbNation. He has had multiple #1 songs on SoundClick.com and was also featured in the Boulder Daily Camera Newspaper in late 2010.
Mark is an electronic music advocate and gives back to the community in various ways. For over five years Mark has been sharing knowledge via his geek synth blog ModulateThis.com. He also shares insights and performances via his youtube channel which just crossed 500,000 views. Mark has been invited to play and speak on music technology at Ableton Colorado User Group, music festivals, and the Microsoft’s Store. Mark has also developed a social musical instrument called "9 Box Method for performance, improvisation, and spontaneous tribal jams with music, sound, and light". This system is already the basis for an electronic music lab in a local Denver area school.
