I just uploaded this video of an improvisation with a new virtual analog synthesizer I’m testing and thought I’d share here on my artist blog.
In this video, I’m projecting the instrument which is running on my laptop on the wall behind me. I’ve mapped knobs, sliders etc… from a controller keyboard to parameters in the software giving my physical control of the synthesizer without having to touch the computer. So as a player, it’s no different than playing a hardware synth.
Using this technique, I dial up on sound on this synth, then tweak and perform with it to get expressive results and a huge variety of sonic tonalities.
